At Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC) Foundation, we are proud to highlight the supporters who make our mission possible. This Investor Spotlight shines on the Minnesota Wheat Research & Promotion Council (MWRPC), a valued partner that has invested in agricultural literacy for decades, helping us inspire and educate students across Minnesota.
A Lasting Commitment to Agricultural Literacy
The Minnesota Wheat Research & Promotion Council has been a dedicated supporter of MAITC for 38 years. Their ongoing partnership has helped us bring agriculture into classrooms through engaging resources like AgMags, hands-on lesson plans, and professional development for educators. This sustained investment ensures that students of all ages can understand and appreciate the role agriculture plays in their daily lives.
Connecting Every Year at the Prairie Grains Conference
Through our partnership with the Minnesota Wheat Research & Promotion Council, MAITC has the opportunity to connect with agricultural communities each year by participating in the Prairie Grains Conference. This annual event in Grand Forks, North Dakota, brings together farmers, researchers, educators, and industry leaders, creating valuable opportunities to engage in conversations that shape the future of agriculture.
At this year’s conference, MAITC Resource Specialist Sarah Kuschel hosted our booth, sharing resources with attendees and highlighting how agricultural literacy benefits students, schools, and communities. Sarah reflected, "It’s inspiring to hear how teachers and farmers are using our resources to make meaningful connections with young learners. These conversations remind us why agricultural literacy matters."

The conference also provided a valuable platform to share MAITC’s resources and message of agricultural literacy with a wide audience. One highlight was connecting with agricultural media, including Eric Johnson from the Ag Network. Opportunities like this help amplify the importance of agricultural literacy across the region and are made possible through our ongoing partnership with Minnesota Wheat Research & Promotion Council.
Growing the Future Together
The Minnesota Wheat Research & Promotion Council’s long-term investment in agricultural literacy is a cornerstone of MAITC’s success. Their support has allowed us to grow, adapt, and reach more classrooms every year. It’s through lasting partnerships like this that we can continue to build agricultural literacy and help the next generation understand where their food comes from and why agriculture matters.
We are grateful for this enduring relationship and look forward to continuing to work together to connect classrooms to agriculture across Minnesota.
