Our investors make it possible for Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom to make the impact that it does. This Investor Spotlight is designed to support and lift up our partners in agricultural literacy.
The Impact of Gifts
Minnesota Corn Growers Association has been investing in Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC) for 34 years. During this time, we have taken the AgMag and expanded it to grade-specific magazines for students K-6. Without their increased support, we could not have jumped in and completed these grade-specific AgMags in the last 3 years! Minnesota Corn Growers Association has also provided many opportunities for us to share our work from their Corn Matter radio spots to Corn Talk Magazine to MN Corn board members volunteering to be a host for the Summer Teacher Tours. We are grateful for this ongoing partnership!
Why Minnesota Corn Growers Association Supports the MN Ag in the Classroom Mission
Angela Guentzel of Minnesota Corn Growers Association has a personal connection to the work of Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom as she and her family farms. Her farming operation was one of the 2023 Summer Teacher visits during the A Day in the Life of a Farmer tour. When asked why Minnesota Corn Growers Association supports MAITC, Angela states, “We are very proud to be a sponsor for you guys and for so long term as well. Every year when we get our proposals in, proposals come in almost twice as much as our budget, so every year we have to look at what Corn Grower values are and what we are trying to do and we rank everything according to those values. Without a doubt, Ag at the Classroom is always scores high on that list. It has been such a pleasure for us and we are so proud to be a part of such a wonderful organization. I’m involved in many other things and each thing I see they say ‘Oh yeah we have this resource with Minnesota Ag in the Classroom’. So the connections are undeniable and we are so proud to be a part of it! [...] Thank you Ag in the Classroom for your work and we are proud to be a supporter!”
Why the MN Ag in the Classroom Foundation Executive Director is Excited About This Partnership
Ann Marie Ward, Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom, Inc. Foundation Executive Director, stated, “Minnesota Corn Growers Association has been an exceptional supporter and donor of Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom for 34 years providing 36 gifts. One of those additional gifts helped us get Farm Camp Minnesota off the ground in 2020. This really proves that strong partnerships can cultivate really great results. As Generations Club investors, we truly could not do this work without their generous support and endless encouragement.”
