Why did you join the board?
I love the mission of MAITC. As a long time school board member, local dairy farmer and Midwest Dairy board member, I felt this was a great way to connect those experiences to help further the MAITC mission.
What MAITC program or initiative are you most passionate about and why?
Where to start! The AgMag program is such a simple way for educators can incorporate the story of Ag while keeping standards based curriculum at the center - for FREE! It doesn't get much better than that. Also, I love the virtual farm tours from the accessibility angle as well as Journey 2050 from the sustainability standpoint.
What is your favorite agricultural product and why?
As a dairy farmer, of course I will say DAIRY! From cheese to ice cream to a cold glass of chocolate milk, what could be better. It is such a nutritious and wholesome product that is sustainably produced - what's not to love? Also, bacon. Who doesn't love bacon?
What is your profession?
Off the farm, I am employed at Form-A-Feed where I serve as the Marketing Manager.
