Why did you join the board?

Growing up, agriculture was not in my classroom; agriculture was my home. I didn't put much thought into agriculture education until I saw a clear gap on agriculture acumen with my own kids and their peers. Raising boys one generation removed from the farm has highlighted my desire for agriculture education that clearly connects and builds value among daily life on and off the farm. The opportunity to engage with MAITC is a wonderful way that I can elevate the positive narrative of agriculture to the next generation.

What MAITC program or initiative are you most passionate about and why?

The hands on approach of Farm Camp is very exciting to me! Seeing students light up at the touch, see, smell aspects of agriculture and watching them connect the dots on how their lives are changed for the better moves my heart. Brilliantly giving students a customized agriculture literacy experience that changes their outlook on daily life is quite difficult to beat.
